1919 Red
General Description:

1919 wines are dedicated to the year Chev. Anthony Cassar, at the young age of 16, laid the foundations to the company that is better known today as Marsovin. 1919 also symbolises his family's faithful Commitment to the Arts, so much so that every year a different local artist will be chosen to create two paintings inspired by the emotions the wine emanates, to adorn the labels of this wine. Marsovin first started producing 1919 in 2004, from grapes harvested from family owned vineyards in Malta. The production of this wine is strictly limited and each and every bottle is numbered to authenticate its issue.

Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz & Gellewza
The Vineyard & Training Systems

Selected farmer's vineyards in Siggiewi, Mgarr and Burmarrad. Vertical trellis system, Cordon pruning and controlled drip irrigation for Cabernet & Shiraz, Alberello for Gellewza and replacement cane pruning.

The 2006 vintage, was characterised by slightly cooler and wetter conditions relative to previous years with lower than average mean temperatures throughout the year and beneficially high rainfall in the winter months. The resultant 2006 vintage wines are typified essentially by their intense fruity bouquet, good balance and velvety smooth tannins.
